As we shift into August, we’re invited into a more playful, vibrant and loving energy in the year.
This portal of time makes way for us to open our hearts, connect with the love and authenticity within us, and to self-express from this place with courage. Throughout this month: be bold. lead with pride - in yourself and your creations, do things from a place of joy, and share your light. Offer it up to the world and allow it to be witnessed.

#1 : What Does Your Heart Say?
Do you remember a time when you created something from pure joy, play, fun or from an expression of a pure intention within your heart? Wherever your work, projects or offerings have become more about productivity and the external results they will yield, your creativity is asking you to remember how to play again from a more honest and carefree place. It’s asking you to connect to the part of you that created out of enjoyment, out of fun, and from a place where it didn’t care about the outcome - only the purity of self-expression. Where you’ve placed expectations on your ventures (and yourself) - drop them momentarily. Tune into your heart space. What is it saying to you? Let it speak and offer you ways to filter life and your creations through the lens of your heart. If, before creating anything, you were to ask yourself “What does my heart say?”, how would your work be different? What would change? From this place, see what wants to come forth.
Your Ritual : We all have an internal and eternal child that lives within us. One that needs to be nurtured and respected for what it needs to stay alive within us. Think about a creative activity you did as a child or a teenager that was purely for your own enjoyment and fun (like starting a blog and not caring about the views and engagement, you just wanted to have a place to share your thoughts and pictures from your life) and allowed you to color outside the lines. Spend some time reconnecting with this hobby or creative outlet. Make room for it in your schedule this month - intentional time to create in this way. When you do, see if there are ways you can bring this same energy into your current work, projects or offerings. What’s feeling heavy or restricted? Can you make it lighter and more playful? Or infuse it with more love? How can you reframe the things that have gotten complicated in your world to be approached from a lens of play and love and self-expression for what you do? This is your ritual.
#2 : Go With Courage
Where does your current project, offering, or work need more of your conviction? Do you believe in yourself and what you’re offering? Your creativity is asking you to locate the place within yourself that knows and believes that you have what it takes and that what you’re doing will work out. Believing in yourself is one of the greatest forms of self-love. It’s interesting how our society likes to ridicule those who have a lot of belief in themselves and self-conviction - “how dare they?”they must be full of themselves”. But that’s because these are usually people who don’t have the courage to do what those who believe in themselves do. Let yourself be brave, valiant and fully convinced of your success. Your external reality will respond in time.
Your Ritual : This month, tune out any noise in the world that feeds or influences you with any thoughts that don’t support your confidence and belief in yourself. With a blue ink pen and a piece of paper, write out as many “I AM” statements you can think of that get you into the energy of owning how capable you are. Take a look at this daily. Make a moodboard of the images that inspire the remembering of your own creative power and self-conviction.
#3: Own Your Spotlight
How do you feel when the spotlight is on you? What is your relationship to being perceived, seen and witnessed? If your answer to these questions is anything but completely owning and revelling in the spotlight when it’s your time to shine - here your invitation lies this month. Self-expression is vital to the human existence and to being a healthy human being. When you make space and find your own outlets of self-expression you are making space to witness yourself. Therefore, others can witness you too - in your authenticity, in your truth, in your brightness. Don’t dim where you naturally shine. Own all of the gifts you came here with. Share them. For yourself, and for the benefit of all. Stand proud. Pride doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Are you proud to be you? Are you proud of the things you create? Get to know this part of you that allows yourself to be seen for all that you are and offer this world. You are the main character of your own life. Act like it.
Your Ritual: Where do you retract yourself when all eyes are on you? Is it when you’re sharing a creative project, telling people what you do, posting a thought online, being called to speak, etc? Wherever you tend to retract, straighten your back, puff up your chest, hold your head high and boldly express yourself in your authenticity instead. Even if you feel afraid as you do it, your soul will thank you for taking up the space you deserve. What happens when we don’t express something within ourselves? We slowly decay on the inside. Don’t do that to yourself. Expand where you normally contract. Breathe where you normally tighten. Your magic deserves to be seen and witnessed by you first.
